Beatrice works as a researcher at a sensationalist New York based media organization, although she is more often than not tasked with making coffee than anything else. In the process, Beatrice gets embroiled in the story of the immortal monster, specifically in helping him locate a Dr. Artaud, who can help the monster fulfill what he believes is his true destiny. However, Beatrice's boss, who senses a sensational story, may thwart Beatrice and the monster's plans.

In this swiftly paced and expansive conclusion, Henry and Fay's son Ned sets out to find and kill his father for destroying his mother's life.
