High profile San Francisco Police Lieutenant Frank Bullitt is asked personally by ambitious Walter Chalmers, who is in town to hold a US Senate subcommittee hearing on organized crime, to guard Johnny Ross, a Chicago based mobster who is about to turn evidence against the organization at the hearing. Chalmers wants Ross' safety at all cost, or else Bullitt will pay the consequences. Bullitt and his team of Sergeant Delgetti and Detective Carl Stanton have Ross in protective custody for 48 hours over the weekend until Ross provides his testimony that upcoming Monday. Bullitt's immediate superior, Captain Samuel Bennet, gives Bullitt full authority to lead the case, no questions asked for any move Bullitt makes. After their victory at Orlèans Joan participates in the coronation of Charles in Reims. Bishop Cauchon accuses her of heresy, and is relocated to Northern France, where he associates with the English occupants. Joan breaks Charles treaty with Burgundy by attacking Paris. Her troops are defeated, and Charles betrays her by letting the Burgundians capture her. They hand her over to their English allies, who put her on a trial led by bishop Cauchon. The court sentences her to be burned at the stake as a heretic.

When he dies, the sky becomes dark and an earthquake rocks the land. The disciples take him down from the cross and bury him in a cave. Three days later, however, they find the cave empty. Jesus, alive, appears to them and commands them to proclaim everywhere that love has conquered death. Even doubtful Thomas has to believe the miracle when he is allowed to touch the crucifix wounds on Jesus' hands.
